The aim of the project was to investigate possibilities for a prominent location in the heart of Cambridge.

The site is located within the Station Road and Botanic Garden masterplan and completes the landmark/gateway character of the intersection of Station Road and Hills Road. The final design took into account possibilities such as obtaining a minimum BREEAM Excellent rating while maximising the

long-term site opportunity, considering it as retrofit/retention opportunities and part of the new "Botanic" masterplan. The main question asked was: “Can this structure absorb more carbon than it emits?” The proposal included brand-new, grade A office space as well as terrace gardens and roof sheard space with plants above the core.
