CONTEXT
The study concerns an approximately 82-metre-long and 20-metre-high blind wall at 22 Kościuszki Street and 79 Piotrkowska Street, adjacent to Rubinstein Passage. Existing apartments and service units created a real functional context rather than an isolated façade exercise.
ARCHITECTURAL RESPONSE
The proposal uses a self-supporting, scaffolding-like structure to introduce terraces and spaces connected to residential and food uses. Existing wall openings inform the organisation, while reflective elements address the north-facing condition. Architecture, interior and furniture were considered as one concept, with references to the material and decorative identity of Lodz.
