CONTEXT
The proposal comprises six homes above a ground-floor commercial unit in a conservation area in south-west London. It brings a contemporary residential programme into a setting where the proportions, materials and details of the surrounding buildings are particularly significant.
ARCHITECTURAL RESPONSE
The design combines traditional proportions and materials with contemporary requirements for thermal performance and outdoor amenity. The detailing includes 3D-printed cornices and precision-cast metal balustrades, using current fabrication techniques to develop elements associated with the area’s architectural character.
