CONTEXT
The Moon Catcher examines loneliness, screen-mediated life and Soho’s night-time identity. The research asks how a place might encourage shared experiences while accommodating different needs for learning, gathering and retreat throughout the day and night.
ARCHITECTURAL RESPONSE
The proposal combines daytime learning and public activity, shared outdoor experience at dusk, an urban beach and a hotel component. Moon-related cycles inform its exploration of time and use. The programme moves between collective settings and private accommodation, using changes in activity and landscape to investigate how architecture might support social connection.
