CONTEXT
Malham Cove’s fissured ground, topography and wind conditions provide the setting for an acoustic landscape study. The project explores how a small, demountable intervention might make these conditions part of a focused sensory experience.
ARCHITECTURAL RESPONSE
The pods are conceived as wind-driven bells, each producing a distinct tone. Together, they are intended to form a changing sound field across the landscape. A large acoustic mirror and smaller mirrors within the pods reflect sound, making the encounter with wind and resonance central to the spatial experience.
